Liars Bench Beer Co is located at 459 Islington St #4, Portsmouth, NH, founded by two UNH College roommates, inside a former plumbing warehouse.

When you open the door, you’re greeted by a staircase that builds a little anticipation what’s waiting at the top? The answer: an open floor plan with a welcoming bar, garage doors that spill out onto a dog-friendly patio, and a vibe that invites you to stay awhile. Whether you’re catching up with friends or just soaking in the sun, it’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you belong.

The spot offers a rotating selection of traditionally inspired ales and lagers, plus non-alcoholic options. On our quick Thursday afternoon pop-in, we each grabbed a single pint and settled in for some people watching. The beers were delicious, a Red and an IPA were both crisp and refreshing on the palate.

Our visit was short, but memorable. Great beer, interesting atmosphere, and a space that feels like it’s built for connection. We’ll definitely be back for a longer stay—maybe next time with a flight, a meal, and for sure more details.
